雷东升，兰州大学物理科学与技术学院教授，博士生导师，双聘兰州大学电镜中心、动物医学与生物安全学院。于2006年、2009年和2014年分别获西安交通大学理学学士、硕士和博士学位，毕业后至美国劳伦斯伯克利国家实验室工作，并于2019年06月加入兰州大学。长期从事蛋白、病毒、有机框架等有机大分子的冷冻电镜三维结构研究，探究功能实现的分子机理，为相关疾病的药物开发、纳米材料的性能优化等提供线索。迄今在Nature Plants、Nature Chemical Biology和Nature Communications等国际期刊发表论文20余篇，主持国家自然科学基金面上项目等纵横向项目，兼任中国电子显微镜学会第十一届低温电镜专家组委员、西北四省（甘青宁新）电子显微学会副理事长、Microstructures青年编委等职务。

Biography of Dongsheng Lei from Lanzhou University in China

Dr. Dongsheng Lei received his Ph.D. degree in June 2014 from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He performed postdoctoral research at The Molecular Foundry, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 2014 to 2019, and joined the school of Physical Science and Technology, Electron Microscopy Center at Lanzhou University as a professor in 2019. He is a standing director of Electron Microscope Society of Northwestern China. He is interested in developing cryo-electron tomography technique, and combining the technique with molecular dynamics simulation to study the structure and function of macrobiomolecule. He has published 16 SCI papers, including Nature Communications, Nature Chemical Biology, Journal of Biological Chemistry. Dr. Dongsheng’s work has been highlighted and re-reported by a number of academic websites including PhysOrg, Nanotechnology Now, and Science Daily.
